재단 소개

타우마제인은 시대의 흐름과 조화되는 ‘삶의 철학’ 정립과 확산을 위해 설립된 비영리 재단법인입니다.

오늘날 인류는 디지털 혁명과 인공지능의 등장으로 문명사적 대전환의 시대를 살아가고 있습니다. 기술은 인간과 기계의 경계를 새롭게 정의하고 있으며, 초연결 사회는 세계를 하나의 공동체로 연결하고 있습니다. 더 나아가 현실과 가상이 공존하는 새로운 환경은 인간의 삶과 문명의 모습을 근본적으로 바꾸고 있습니다.

그러나 이와 함께 인간 소외, 생태 위기, 가치의 혼란, 공동체의 해체와 같은 문제 또한 심화되고 있습니다. 지금 우리에게 필요한 것은 인간은 누구이며 어떻게 살아야 하는가를 함께 성찰하는 지혜입니다. 인간의 조건과 존재 의미는 무엇이며, 바람직한 인간상과 우리가 추구하는 미래의 문명은 어떤 것인지 그 의미를 다시 묻지 않을 수 없습니다.

급변하는 시대일수록 철학은 현실과 동떨어진 학문이 아니라 삶의 방향을 제시하는 나침반이 되어야 합니다. 인문학은 시대를 읽고, 철학은 시대를 해석하며, 삶의 철학은 우리의 일상을 변화시키는 실천이 되어야 합니다.

About Thaumazein

Thaumazein is a non-profit foundation devoted to sharing a philosophy of life attuned to the currents of our times.

We live in an age of civilizational transformation, driven by the digital revolution and the rise of artificial intelligence. Technology is redrawing the line between human and machine. A hyper-connected society is binding the world into one community. And as reality and virtuality come to coexist, the very shape of human life and civilization is changing.

But the same forces deepen old problems and create new ones: alienation, ecological crisis, the unsettling of values, the unravelling of community. What we need now is the wisdom to ask together who we are and how we ought to live. What is the human condition, and what gives our existence meaning? What kind of person is worth becoming, and what kind of civilization is worth building?

The faster the world changes, the less philosophy can afford to stand apart from it. Philosophy must be a compass. The humanities read the times; philosophy interprets them; and the philosophy of life turns this insight into daily practice.

Thaumazein exists to be a public square for collective intelligence—renewing the humanistic spirit and the culture of philosophy, pursuing the questions our age demands, searching out the values we hold in common, and opening the way to a better civilizational future.
